Fantastic 1966 Telecaster nearly all original! What's not original, body finish, frets, original bridge pickup has been rewound by Lindy Fralin (Lindy confirmed it is indeed an orignal 1966 Fender pickup), I'm not sure but I believe the pickguard is not original. Otherwise, all original or at least all from 1966. Set up well with low action and plays like a dream. Sounds just like a mid 60's Tele should. Aside from the pots being a little scratchy sometimes (hey they're over 50 years old), no issues. No weird body routes etc. The body has been re-finished in nitro some time ago and the wear and tear looks just right for mid 60s guitar. Lot's of checking throughout. About the only way I can tell it's not the original finish is to compare it to the original paint in the neck pocket and pickup cavities. Othewise very convincing. The pickups are amazing and I believe the re-wound bridge sounds good as new. Lindy Fralin is certainly a master at pickup winding. Something about those old magnets that you just don't get from a modern pickup. To the best of my knowledge the neck pickup is original with original windings. Sounds fantastic! A master restoration artist did the re-fret. No issues there. Frets are vintage spec but like new. The back of the neck is very smooth and comfortable with most of the finish worn off up and down the entire neck. The case is rough, but I believe it is a 1966 Fender case. Not original to the guitar, but correct none the less. The Fender logo on the case is missing, but the plastic backing is still there so you can see that it was a Fender.
Will ship with insurance to cover the sale price and will be packaged well inside the case.
Not a museum piece, but this is a fantastic guitar vintage guitar and will make an excellent instrument for someone. I'm only selling because I bought a 62 Tele Custom (for much more $$$) and I can't justify so many Teles.
Let me know if you want to see specific pictures (could only get so many on the ad) or if you have any questions about this Killer Tele.
