    1800 BIEDERMEIER BAVARAIN GARNET SILVER FILIGREE ROSARY WITH PORCELAIN CROSS HALLMARKED
    For your consideration is the rosary pictured above. A Bavarian five decade Roman Catholic rosary dating back to the 19th century and believed to be in the Biedermeier Period. Made of silver filigree and garnet stones. It has a beautiful porcelain cross but the cross does have some cracks and damage. A hallmark is found on the round continuous cross ring. The cross measures approximately 2 1/2 X 1 1/2 inches and the total length of the rosary is approximate 17 1/2 inches. I was told the rosary is composed of authentic garnet stones. Measuring the stones; many seem to be 6mm or so. I was told the garnet vary in size a bit because they are authentic garnets and not glass beads to look like garnets.
