Description
1966 Gibson SG Standard large guard, One of the earliest of large guard SGs. This SG is not a "player grade" or "road warrior" (whatever the F that is) Cherry finish has darkened considerably over last 1/2 century. I placed it next to a newer 61 reissue and color difference is striking. Not RED like the newer guitars. Rated "exceptionally fine" by Gruhns in Nashville! Unmodified, original patent sticker pick-ups,original solder joints, nut, tuners and everything else.Frets are original and in great shape. No neck repairs, no breaks or other things that will subtract from your "vintage" experience. 55 years young and the case is very nice too, with original adjustment instructions. No broken latches or tears in Tolex. Very minimal finish checks on the bass side north of the trem. Some light corrosion on trem proper, where a sweaty hand would sit. It is not every day that you can get one this clean and priced to sell, at least a 1000 cheaper than value, BTW. Ask me anything you need to know. (about the guitar). Free shipping, or you can pick up. I have avoided tone cliches because it is irritating. That being said, it sounds great, and the neck and action are ridiculous, y'all. I will ship fed-ex overnight free! Why buy a custom shop fake for 6 grand when you can get the real thing?
