    Description

    This is the autograph of
    John "Flash" Whitner
    (b. 1919, d. ????),
    a somewhat obscure blues
    singer who played washtub
    bass and kazoo.
He is probably best known as half of the blues
    duo
    "Lucky & Flash"
, along with a man named
Cab Lucky. The two of them also formed a trio
    with "Washboard Doc"
    (1911-1988). That trio
    was
    known under several names, including
Washboard Doc and His Hep 3, the Washboard
    Doc Trio,
    and
    Washboard Doc, Lucky and Red.
    The
trio also did recordings and performances
    with
    "Louisiana Red"
    (1932-2012),
    an American
blues guitarist, harmonica player, and singer,
who recorded more than 50 albums.
    There are several
    "Lucky & Flash"
    songs
    currently
    available on Youtube, although
they can be hard to find.
    The
autograph is in ink, on a 1" by 3"
    piece of paper.
    The
    autograph
    comes with a certificate
    of authenticity from JG Autographs.
