    BELT RIG & IMAGE
    CAPTAIN'S SWORD BELT, BUCKLE & IMAGE.  This pistol, belt, buckle, holster, & tintype of Civil War officer came from Large well respected Illinois CW Collector of some merit. The serial range of the Colt Army presents this remarkable history artifact as 10th Illinois Cavalry and further research confirms the fact as said captain has been identified.   Regardless of unit affiliation, revolver was US Govt. purchase in 1863. The extremely rare and valuable oval sixth plate tintype of  Civil War captain is included in this grouping. CONDITION: Belt is good to very good overall, complete w/ both hangers & over the shoulder strap. The sewn loop that retains over the shoulder strap to belt & one hanger is unsewn, which is easily restored. Image is very good overall sitting in its patent gutta percha case. This Lot will without question  add value, interest and Intrigue to any CW collection.
