    Description

Here is just a really cool display and educational tool. this HISTORY OF BARBED WIRE  was dug near Shiloh battlefield in Purdy Tennessee at the Colonel Fielding Hurst House . It has three different types of barbed wire used from before the civil war to just after,  to the type we use today which that type was 1881 to present.  Neat display to show children . ( UPDATE ) , I was informed that the earliest pattern the ZigZag listed on the board started in 1867 not 1860 . These dates were marked on the board by the digger back in the 1970s , and I haven't researched the dates, but are still the first patterns ever made and are very educational and interesting to the historian that wants to research them further.
