Dated Jan. 1 1863, original painting on board of Civil War soldier. Measures approximately 14" x 11". Dated on back. Pencil inscription on back - I darkened it in photos to better decipher, see photos. P
ossibly a Sgt. Hughes, S.C. not certain - could be soldier's name, artist or other. Un-researched.
