GIBSON 57' LES PAUL GOLDTOP R7 HISTORIC CUSTOM SHOP 1996 REISSUE CLEAN

Like beloved pets,,  these 2 Goldtops were purchased together and we are hoping to find them the same owner.
Here we have an uncirculated 1996 Gibson Custom Shop 57' Goldtop Historic reissue in 100% original except for a refret and in VERY clean condition.  It was purchased by the current and 2nd. owner in a pair along with a 1997 56' Custom Shop Les Paul Goldtop reissue also listed here on reverb.com.  Both guitars very well cared for these past 25 years.
Turns out the original owner had the guitar re-fretted soon after purchase because I don't think anyone could wear a set of frets out and have a refret that shows wear in the frets,,, without there being wear on the back of the neck, fretboard, etc. and this guitar is sooooo clean.
The CTS pot readings in the cavity cover are from the 14th week of 1995, R1379514.  The serial # 7 6325 tells me this is a bonafide 1996 and the guitar was the 325th produced out of the Historic Gibson Custom Shop that year.  1 of the 'VERY' first!
Limited Production/Historic Series ....not your assembly line reissues...these are painstakingly handcrafted replicas of the original LP Gold Tops... exact replicas of the originals down to the finest (tinyist? smallest?) detail...hand picked hardwoods...mahogany and carved maple cap.  Currently, new ones are priced at 00, but for some reason they are less desirable...apparently more generic somehow.
This 57' has that clean yet authentic vintage look with the honest light wear and patina setting in especially in the nickel parts.  The pickguard has some scratching and there are a few light dings here and there thruout the guitars finish with nothing thru the finish to the wood.  The frets show just light even wear up the fretboard with light pitting only in the first 2 frets with a LOT of fret left.
Turns out the bridge pickup was swapped out with a Duncan CCL humbucker and we do not have access to the original PAF but do have our eye out for a proper replacement.
What can I say,,, it plays and sounds FANTASTIC!
Compared to the last original 57' Goldtop I sold 10 years ago for just under 0.000.00 'THIS' guitar is so close it is amazing.  It just has that same feel,, that VIBE.
