    Description

Jess Stacy signed handwritten letter with mailing envelope. Stacy writes about his battle with colon cancer. What is striking and poignant about this letter is that it was clearly sent to the recipient after Stacy's death. Stacy died on January 1, 1995. The postmark on the mailing envelope for this letter is January 16, 1995, and on back, Stacy's wife has added "Mrs." to Jess Stacy's printed name, indicating she was the sender, not Jess. Excellent condition.
This is part of the collection of Jeff Atterton, a historian of Jazz who was friends with many of the great Jazz musicians of the '40s and '50s.
