Description
Mitsubishi DLP Television 65" Model WD 65731This television is in working order with the following caveats:
1) The bulb for these projection televisions needs to be replaced periodically.
Depending on the quality of the bulb, they cost between and 0 on Amazon or Ebay.
The set currently has a functioning bulb with a few backups that have some life left in them.
2) There is some visual flickering with some colors (particularly blues and reds) when viewing Interlaced video (that is video coming from an antennae or cable box).
Progressive video, such as Netflix streaming through a computer, Blu-ray and DVD discs, and video games, looks fine with no distortion whatsoever. I used this television as my gaming screen for years with no troubles : it even has a DVI connector for older video cards.
3) If power to the unit is disrupted (unplugging for bulb-replacement or power failure), it generally takes about 20 minutes before it can be power back on.
This seems to be a known issue with these units.
4) The remote is included but it stopped working for me, so I switched to a universal remote.
The television is bulky (but not too heavy).
Two people will be required to transport it, and a large vehicle such as a van or pickup truck is recommended.
This model was one of the last projection televisions manufactured before they were discontinued, and as such, might be of value to a repairman looking to cannibalize this for parts, such as the color wheel, the DLP chip, the main board, the ballust, etc.
Available for pickup only.
