This is a treasure trove, a legitimate holy grail for Neil Young and Lionel Train fans.
Music legend Neil Young’s personal notebooks, binders, test notes, drawings, signatures and more. Hundreds of pages, many with handwritten notes!!
The white “Locomotive Test Data” binder contains a pen and handwritten notes regarding numerous Lionel locomotives run and tested by Neil Young.
Many of the notes are signed by Neil Young with his “NY” signature that he commonly uses for autographs.
There are also pages where he tested locomotives with his sons Ben and Zeke and other train enthusiasts.
The back pocket of the binder contains 15 additional pages each with handwritten notes for the Audioscope Model 3000 Analyzer/RT60 Lionel Prototype SD60.
The black binder has a post-it note on the cover that reads “SAVE FOREVER NEIL’S ORIGINAL COMMAND BOOK”.
The inside pocket has an MTV phone card and a signed letter from Lionel Product Development Engineer Steven Greening and a packet on Locolinc R/F Control Systems.
The binder has page after page with handwritten notes regarding Trainmaster Control, Route Control and Accessory/RCs Control. It’s truly incredible.
Also included are ZW-D Manuals.
The Double Docket notebook includes hand drawn sketches, lists of trains and accessories, notes to Neil from friends and other model train engineers and tinkerers regarding tests/experiments, notes on layouts including one page where Neil writes about “76 Indians” “Res Auto Indians”, “Turnpike Cruiser” and having a “Music Intro”.
The Writing Tablet notebook measures 6”x9” and features layout drawing with track layouts, lists, names, what appears to be a tour/video shoot expense list with costs.
Neil Young is probably the most famous model train collector in the world and this is his documentation of his collecting, testing and his connection to Lionel Trains.
