    Description

    This is an original Civil War era cast iron stove door.  Heavy, measuring approx. (12 1/2" x 12 3/4")   Unique piece!!  In the center is a high-relief image of a armed soldier.  Below are cannon and cannon balls.  Sides and top around the image show a memorial (?) wreath.  The left edge has two hinges and the right side has a latch with hole for mounting hardware.  The top left hinge has it's hole, while the bottom latch has the hole filled in.  Overall, very good condition with no broken pieces or cracks.  There is the normal pitting all over that is common to most cast iron this age.  Has been painted gold long ago.  Fantastic item for either a Civil War display or collection.  Thank you.
