    Description

    Original hand carved Civil War and earlier soldier's lice comb.  In the early days before modern plastics many things like these were made from horns of certain animals like this one.  Excellent overall condition.  It's estimated that about 2/3 of the Union Army were infected by lice during the Civil War.  No big mystery when you also know that one comb, held in a hanging comb case in each and every Union barracks, was shared among all the men assigned there.
    Measures 2-3/4 inches long by 2-3/4 inches wide.  Please judge condition for yourself by the pictures.  Perfect addition to any Civil War "smalls" collection.
