    RARE ANTIQUE 1870 SPANISH SPAIN GILT SILVER FILIGREE MOTHER OF PEARL ROSARY WITH ORIGINAL BOX
    For your consideration is the rosary pictured above. A rare item that is almost impossible to find in its original case. A Spanish five decade Roman Catholic rosary that dates back to the 19th century. More specifically, according the the original owner, 1870. Made of gold plated silver filigree with 59 mother of pearl beads; fifty-three 8mm beads and six 10mm beads. The gold plated silver filigree is so intricate and delicate it is hard to believe the rosary was used on a daily bases. The original owner mentioned the rosary was presented as a special gift to a priest who earned the title Monsignor in the Roman Catholic Church; hence M.S. in gold letters on top of the
    original
    box. The gold plated delicate silver filigree is totally intact but with some gold plating loss. The cross measures approximately 3 1/4 inches in length and 2 1/8 inches width. The center medal piece is a delicate fragile and intricate work of art in itself. The original box measures approximately 8 1/8 X 6 X 1 3/4 inches. The total length of he rosary is 21 inches. Would make an excellent addition to your collection.
