    I purchased this fantastic historical trunk at the Annual Penn Yan NY Antique Show. This Show is known for unearthing "Treasures" From Upstate N.Y. And this gorgeous Civil War Era Trunk or Chest definitely falls in that category! Just Look at the photo's on this.All original Stenciling identifying The chest as owned by one "J. Plumkett or Plunkett?(Hard to be sure).But the rest is Clear NYSM (New York State Militia) 165th N.G.(Nation Guard).The condition of this historic military chest is simple fantastic.Old original red paint brass hardware overbuilt and absolutely "Rock Solid".Constructed with 1" pine boards measuring 15" in Width...(virgin timber) single planks with Dovetailed Corners, It's simply the best box I have had in 35 years as a Antique Dealer! I know it's expensive but Good things just simply are.You get what you pay for so they say!
