Straight from an estate sale in Kentucky comes this Rare Civil War Field Officer’s Lap Desk ~ Drawer & Ink Wells ~ Walnut. The desk folds open to make a really nice lap desk. It has two glass ink wells and a pencil holder and a couple other pockets to hold items (one pocket is missing a slat of wood, nothing serious). The desk also has a drawer that has a metal pin inside that keeps in from opening. You remove the pin and open the drawer. The writing part of the desk has two surfaces that fold open for storage underneath. Really a nice interesting piece. Has brass handles on each side for carrying. The desk is unlocked. I do not have a key for it. It’s in good condition. There is one spot on a corner that appears the veneer is gone, but looks fine, again nothing serious. Measures: 21 3/4” X 11” X 8”. These measurements is with the desk closed. Buyer pays shipping.
