Back home at our Mystic Barrels workshop, we take a handful of our very own authentic whiskey and wine barrels through our barrel refurbishment process. This process brings incredible new life and beauty to these oak barrels!

The only question is... should you choose a refurbished whiskey or wine barrel? We have both!
Well, it is mostly personal preference. But here are a few of the differences explained!
1.
As part of our barrel refurbishing process, the wine barrels get fully sanded down to bare, clean wood. For the whiskey barrels, we intentionally leave some of the barrel's original, darker undertones.
This gives the wine barrels a really clean, pristine look, and leaves the whiskey barrels with a bit of their original rustic character.
2.
You may also notice the difference in hoop color. The whiskeys are darkened brown or black, whereas the wine are galvanized to a silver color.
3.
Dimensionally, the whiskey and wine barrels are pretty darn close. However, the wine barrels are a couple inches taller and a couple inches wider than the whiskeys.
All said and done, a customers decision typically just matches up their preference for a dram of whiskey or a glass of wine!
