Autographed Vogue records postcard photograph of the legendary jazz soloist holding his soprano sax.
Bechet (1897-1959) a child prodigy was one of the truly legendary figures in the World of Jazz.  From his earliest days as a child prodigy playing with the great in New Orleans, to his legendary sessions in New York, Paris and Berlin, Bechet lived a remarkable life.  Bechet studied clarinet with Lorenzo Tio, Louis Nelson and George Baquet and beat Louis Armstrong to the recording studio in 1923.  Bechet made his European debut in 1919 with the Will Marion Cook Orchestra, where he was reviewed by none other than Ernest Ansermet!  Bechet worked before the War with Duke Ellington, Noble Sissle and Eddie Condon, but his great leap forward was at the Salle Pleyel in Paris in 1949, where he literally blew off the doors of the Paris Jazz Festival that year and decided to become an ex-pat.  His starry legacy as a true innovator led to some of the most iconic jazz recordings of all time.
