    ESCRIPTION:
    Scans show it all.....nice original Civil War pewter whiskey flask. Typical style of the period with a pewter cup form fit to the glass flask. Excellent aged patina and appearance. Complete with pewter screw top. Stories abound of officers fortifying themselves during battle with a plug from their flasks. They were also regularly used to help ward off the rigors and boredom of camp life.
    Nice early glass with bottle "whittle" marks and bubbles embedded in the glass from the primitive manufacture. In nice condition overall. Pewter is tight after all these years, and that is the way I have left it.
    YOU RARELY SEE ONE OF THESE OFFICER'S CIVIL WAR WHISKEY FLASKS OFFERED FOR SALE. A great addition to any serious collection or camp/soldier/officer field display.
    This is one of the largest ones I have seen in 50 years of collecting. Measures about 9" high x 4" wide.  Excellent condition.
